Early Ventures: After completing his studies, Musk founded Zip2, a city guide software for newspapers. Compaq acquired Zip2 in 1999, providing Musk with his first significant financial success. He then went on to co-found X.com, an online payment company, which eventually became PayPal after a merger. In 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion.
Business Ventures:
- SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp.): In 2002, Musk founded SpaceX with the goal of reducing space transportation costs and making space exploration possible for humans. SpaceX has achieved numerous milestones, including the development of the Falcon and Starship rockets.
