Dr. Khurram completed her medical education in Pakistan before moving to the United States to pursue further studies. She earned her Master’s degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut.

After completing her medical training, Dr. Khurram returned to Pakistan and started working as a medical officer at a government hospital. She quickly realized the challenges facing Pakistan’s healthcare system, particularly in rural areas, where there is a shortage of doctors and limited access to healthcare services.

In 2017, Dr. Khurram co-founded Sehat Kahani with her colleague, Dr. Iffat Zafar Aga. Sehat Kahani is a digital health platform that connects underserved communities with qualified female doctors through telemedicine. The platform uses a network of community health workers to provide basic health services, such as blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, to patients in their homes.

Since its launch, Sehat Kahani has provided telemedicine services to over 1.5 million patients across Pakistan, including in remote and marginalized areas. The platform has also created employment opportunities for over 500 female doctors and community health workers.

Dr. Khurram has been recognized for her contributions to healthcare and entrepreneurship in Pakistan and has received several awards, including the Cartier Women’s Initiative Award and the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia Award. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the Pakistan Medical Association.
