Shaukat Fayaz Ahmed Tarin is a Pakistani economist, banker, and entrepreneur, who has served in several key positions in the government and private sector.

Tarin was born in 1953 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Peshawar, and later completed his Master’s degree in Economics from the Boston University in the United States.

He served as the President and CEO of the Union Bank, one of the largest commercial banks in Pakistan, and also served as the Chairman of the Pakistan Banks’ Association.
