Riaz started his career as a clerk in a construction company in Rawalpindi. Later, he founded his own construction company, Malik Riaz Hussain Limited (MRHL), which was involved in the construction of military facilities in Pakistan. He later ventured into real estate development and founded Bahria Town in 1996.
Under his leadership, Bahria Town has become one of the largest real estate companies in Asia, with projects in Pakistan and overseas, including the UAE, the UK, and the US.
