Nadeem Hussain is a Pakistani tech entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder and CEO of Tameer Microfinance Bank, which has become one of the leading financial institutions in Pakistan, providing banking services to underserved communities.
Hussain was born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1960. He attended the Karachi Grammar School and later earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
After completing his studies, Hussain began his career in the technology industry, working for companies such as Unisys Corporation and Oracle Corporation. In 1996, he founded his first company, Interactive Group, which focused on providing technology solutions to businesses in Pakistan. Interactive Group became one of the leading technology companies in the country, providing services to major clients such as Mobilink, Pakistan International Airlines, and the Government of Pakistan.
In 2005, Hussain founded Tameer Microfinance Bank, which was established with the goal of providing financial services to low-income individuals and micro-entrepreneurs in Pakistan. The bank quickly became a success, and it has since expanded to become one of the largest microfinance institutions in the country, with a network of over 300 branches and more than 2.6 million customers.
In addition to his work with Tameer, Hussain is also a well-known philanthropist and investor. He has invested in a number of startups and tech companies, and he has also founded the Planet N Group of Companies, which includes several technology firms.
Hussain’s contributions to the development of the Pakistani tech industry have earned him numerous awards and honors, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, one of the highest civilian awards in Pakistan. He has also been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
In addition to his work in business and technology, Hussain is also involved in various philanthropic activities. He has established the Tameer Foundation, which provides scholarships and financial assistance to students in Pakistan, and he has also been involved in efforts to improve healthcare and education in the country.
